Skyjack USB Setup and Update Instructions

1. Initial Setup: Formatting and Preparation

  1. Download the Setup ZIP File
    Obtain the Skyjack USB Setup ZIP file.
  2. Format the USB Drive
    • Insert the USB drive into your computer.
    • Locate the drive in File Explorer.
    • Right-click the drive, select Format, and choose:
      • File System: exFAT (or FAT32 if required)
      • Allocation Unit Size: Default
      • Quick Format: Check
    • Click Start to begin formatting.
  3. Extract the ZIP Contents to the USB
    • Right-click the downloaded ZIP file and select Extract All...
    • Select the root of the formatted USB drive as the extraction destination.
    • Click Extract and wait for the files to copy.

2. Make sure there is no updated.txt (Initial Setup Only)

  • Navigate to the root folder of the USB drive.
  • Locate updated.txt. Ideally, it shouldn’t be present but if it is delete it.

This ensures the system treats this as a first-time update.

3. Run the Skyjack Manual System (Initial Update)

  1. In the root folder of the USB drive, locate and double-click Skyjack Manual System.exe.
  2. The system will:
    • Detect the absence of updated.txt.
    • Automatically initiate an update process.
    • Download all required PDFs and other files to the USB drive.

Note: The initial update can take 1–2 hours depending on internet speed and volume of files.

4. Automatic Launch After Update

  • Once the initial update completes, the system will launch SkyjackManualSystem.exe automatically.
  • This application serves as your Skyjack Manual Explorer for accessing manuals.

5. Future Updates and Launches

  • Update Frequency Check
    • On subsequent uses, the system checks updated.txt to determine the last update.
    • If 30 days have passed, the user will be prompted for an update and can choose to update or skip.
    • To force an update, delete updated.txt.
  • When Update Is Accepted
    • Only new or modified files are downloaded.
    • Update is faster than the initial setup.
    • System auto-launches the manual explorer after update.
  • When Update Is Skipped or Not Needed
    • The system immediately launches the manual explorer.

Notes

  • Keep the USB drive connected during the entire update process.
  • Ensure the system has stable internet connectivity.
  • Do not interrupt or remove the USB while updating.
